This past Wednesday, I had some testing done to make sure that I don't have any learning or mental disabilities. I seriously doubt that I do -- it seems like they would have been discovered somewhere along the line in my 19 years of education -- but before I spend the time and money on the Bar Exam again, I wanted to have it checked out.
It was quite an interesting "test." I had to give definitions for words, repeat back letters and number is certain orders, had to identify what was wrong in the picture that was shown to me, I had to so some arthimatic and mathematics, I had to answer some "common knowledge" questions, write a letter to the editor and do so reading comprehension and speed tests. It was actually very relaxing and kinda fun. I talk to a diagnostician in about two weeks about the results of that test. She will tell me my strengths and weaknesses, my learning style, and will be able to help me determine the best way to study. Of course, she will also let me know is she sees any sign of learning disabilities.
I have decided to take the Ethics portion of the Bar Exam (the MPRE) this summer -- August 8th. I have taken it twice before -- in March of 2004 and in November of 2004 -- and passed the second time. It's just that those results are only valid for a few years and by the time I take the rest of the Bar Exam in July 2009, my score will be invalid. I'll probably start reviewing the material for that Exam in the next few weeks and will take a review course in July. I intend to stick with the same strategy as I used the last time I took the Exam -- it worked once, why not again?
I bought some MBE lectures, but haven't had the desire to listen to them yet. I am fearful of burning myself out. However, come August, I gotta stop that -- I am really wanting to give myself a year to slowly prepare...
That's it for now...
